Okay! There are tons of things you can do with anthropology; since its a broad degree, it can be applied to a lot of different careers, and mostly careers with some sort of social/cultural aspect - teaching, health care, non-profit orgs, government, marketing, etc. Anthro has four different subfields: linguistic, sociocultural, archaeology, and biological, so you get translators, doctors, museum curators, social workers and analysts of all kinds. And Anthropologists study all kinds of shit…. Like I’m studying fandom on the Internet, my friend is studying the politicization of the Northern Scots dialect, my other friend is studying undocumented Sikh immigrant access to health care, another friend is studying nephrite rings from the Baikal region of Siberia… So many different projects and all of them are anthropology. Personally, I’m going to go for my masters and Ph.D in linguistic or sociocultural anthro and then hopefully get a teaching position as a professor. I’m also planning on taking the Foreign Service Officers exam, which is the entryway to being a professional diplomat.
